Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to be a Buddhist to attend?
No! People of any faith are welcome to attend and participate. The benefits of meditation are available to everyone, regardless of religious affiliation.
What do you do during meetings?
During weekly meetings, we meditate and have informal discussions about the dharma. Sunday Sangha meetings vary slightly, as we sometimes bring in guest speakers
Does it cost anything?
No. If you attend regularly, we ask that you make a nominal donation to the places in which we meet for allowing us to use their space.
We pay the Unitarian Church $5 per person per month for meeting space, so we ask that once you have decided to attend regularly, you contribute that to us on behalf of the church.
We also hope you will support BlueSky Yoga Center with a small donation, and by patronizing the business.
How does one become a Buddhist?
Simply go for refuge. We begin our practice with the Refuge Prayer for those who consider themselves Buddhists.
How can I get more information?
Feel free to contact us by e-mail or by phone at (386) 738-3715. Better still, attend a meeting!
